Stella Olenec

Stella Olenec, 95, formerly of Kenosha, late of Villa Park, IL, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Elmbrook Nursing Home in Elmhurst, IL. Born in Chicago on May 22, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Honoratia Strzalko. She was educated in the schools on Chicago. On June 8, 1940, she married Anthony J. Olenec in Chicago. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1999. Stella was formerly employed with National Food Stores in northern Illinois. She was a member of St. Alexander’s Catholic Church in Villa Park, IL, and the Homemakers Club in Hayward, WI. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting. Survivors include her daughters, Madeleine (Larry) Hoffman of Villa Park, IL, and Honoratia Bouska of Largo, FL; a brother, Donald Strzalko of Kenosha; seven grandchildren, Debbie (Pete) Conner, Dorene (Jim) Barker, Danette (Greg) Hoffman, Denise (Dan) Goyette, Tim (Evette) Bouska, Julie (Ken) Sidel and Mark Bouska; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13th, at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14th, at Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
