William Conforti Obituary

William F. ”Bill” Conforti, 85, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2013, at United Hospital Systems-Kenosha Campus, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born in Kenosha on December 12, 1927, the son of the late Serafino and Maria (Blasi) Conforti. He attended Kenosha schools and served in the U.S. Army in Japan as a medic. On September 2, 1950, he married Marcella Kohnke in Wilmot, WI. Bill was employed at Simmons Company and in 1958 started working for American Motors Corp. He retired as a supervisor in 1988 after 30 years. Bill and Marcella are members of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. He was an accomplished bowler and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was an avid Cubs fan. Bill and Marcella enjoyed several trips to Italy. He loved taking long walks with his beloved springer spaniel, Prince. For his entire life, Bill always put his family first. His greatest wish for his children was that they all attend college, which they did. His strong work ethic left a lasting impression on his children. Left to comfort one another are his wife of 62 years, Marcella and six children: Doreen (David) Chemerow of Portland, OR; Ronald Conforti of Midvale, UT; Terry Ann (Jim) Bestor of Waukesha, WI; Randall (Carolyn) Conforti of Louisville, KY; William Conforti, Jr. of Kenosha and David (Jennifer) Conforti of Colorado Springs, CO. He leaves behind four grandchildren: Joshua (Tracy) Sunday, Paul Conforti, Hartley Conforti and Alexandra Conforti. He was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Bill on Wednesday, July 31st, at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1919-54th Street, Kenosha. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers gifts be designated to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. The family would like to extend a very warm thank you to Dr. Tomasz Jarzembowski.
