Zennon "Buzz" Zuchowski, 81, of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus.
Born on November 8, 1929, in Ironwood, MI, he was the son of the late Bernerd and Angeline (Marquetti) Zuchowski. He was educated in the schools of Ironwood, coming to Kenosha in 1948 to make his home.
He was in the United States Army during the Korean War from March 5, 1951, until February 24, 1953. He was proud to have received the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal with one overseas bar, Army of Occupation Medal with Japan Clasp, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation.
On May 21, 1955, he married Rosemarie Iorio. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2009.
For 33 years he was a mechanic for American Motors/Chrysler Corp. Retiring in 1982.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
Buzz is survived by his son, Patrick Zuchowski of Kenosha; a brother, Eugene Zuchowski of Hurley, WI; and a sister, Marilyn (Edwin) Slade of Escanaba, MI.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Suzanne Zuchowski on May 12, 2010.
A memorial Mass will be held on Monday, January 31st, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at Green Ridge Cemetery. As per the family’s wishes, please omit flowers.
