Jeannette Dobbs Lake Geneva, Wisconsin Obituary

Jeannette Dobbs

Jeannette C. Dobbs, age 80, passed away peacefully to eternal life Sunday, July 28, 2019 at her Lake Geneva, WI home surrounded by her loving family following a nearly 20 year fierce battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born in Chicago, IL on May 19, 1939, the daughter of Oliver and Olive (Carlson) Lang. On August 5, 1961 she married the love of her life, John E. Dobbs. Together they had a son John on July 27, 1964, and a daughter Deborah on January 12, 1969. Jeannette enjoyed her retirement after working at Continental White Cap for 10 years and then Brown Laboratories/Quest Diagnostics for 25 years. She was a long-time resident of Des Plaines, IL and then was a snowbird between Lake Geneva, WI and Henderson, NV before she and John moved back to Lake Geneva, WI in 2012 to be with their children and grandchildren. Jeannette enjoyed macrame, sewing, planting and caring for flowers, and spending her summer weekends at “the lake” with her husband, children, and her granddaughters. Survivors include her husband, John; son John (Kay) Dobbs, daughter Deborah, granddaughters Michelle Dobbs, Emily Crandall, Niki Dobbs, and Courtney Schober; sisters Gail Carpenter, Louise (Jim) Derbick and Shirley (Bud) Connolley, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews from the large Lang family; and many other family and dear friends too numerous to name. Jeannette was a loyal and loving wife, an amazing mother, a beloved “Gram”, an incredibly strong woman, and a dear friend to many and she will be sorely missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Lang, Olive (Jim) Hayes, her brother Orville Lang, her sister Patsy Dickson, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Erwin and Janice Dobbs, her brother-in-law, John Carpenter, and her son-in-law, David Schober. Visitation will be Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 10:00am to 12:00pm with a service at 12:00pm and a luncheon to follow at First Lutheran Church and School (1101 Logan Street, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin 53147).
