George E. Votruba Obituary

Votruba, Jr., George Emil, Mon., Jul 24, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Jacqueline A. Votruba, dear father of George Votruba III (Jeanette) and Linda Haberberger (Michael), grandfather of Mitchel Votruba (Alison) and their children Hudson and Walker, Tori Davies (Sean) and their children Gideon, Hanna, Elizabeth and Titus, Cheston Votruba, Daniel Haberberger, and Anna Haberberger. Along with being a very loving son, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, George enjoyed a very active life. In his early 20’s he played professional baseball and made it as far as the Triple A Train League. After his marriage to Alice (Budding) in 1956, George III and Linda were born. George was always a very loyal and committed father to George and Linda. George was a natural businessman and founded Kitchen and Bath Design in 1969. His business thrived and it afforded him the freedom to enjoy boating, especially at Lake of the Ozarks. He built many new friendships in the boating community and shared all that he had with family. He enjoyed a residence in St. Petersburg Beach, FL, he loved to boat in the Gulf of Mexico, and he captained his own boat to Key West. George’s dad (George Sr.) and mom (Ethel) were his biggest fans. He spent many weekends with his parents fishing and laughing. In life he was truly blessed. Not surprisingly, he treated everyone with respect and appreciation. He was a tremendous caregiver to his late wife Jacqueline (who proceeded him in death in Jan 2017). As George’s health decreased, his cheerfulness increased and even in his final moments he was content. Services: Funeral Thurs., Jul 27, 12 pm at BOPP CHAPEL, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood, Entombment, Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation Wed., 5-8 pm. Entombment, Sunset Memorial Park.
