Doris Jean Cullins, Smith, Kent, the only child of the late Minnie J. Montgomery, Cullins, Hatchett and the late Edward O’Neil Cullins, was born in Houston, Mississippi on September 18, 1939. Doris went home to be with the Lord o August 29, 2019.

Doris Jean confessed Christ at an early age. She was a devoted member of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, MS. When she moved to Beloit, WI, she joined New Zion Missionary Baptist Church and was a longtime, faithful and devoted member. Serving as the President Mission, a Usher and leader of the Junior Ushers.

Doris Jean Cullins married the late Edward Gene Smith on August 22, 1953 at the age of 14. To this union 7 children were born. Doris Jean loved the Lord, her family and friends. She was a servant and caregiver, inviting everyone into her home. She cooked and fed everyone and open her home to those in need. Doris Jean was employed by the Chrysler Assembly Plant Belvidere, IL and retiring after 30 years of service. Doris Jean was a volunteer at the Beloit Hospital, Meals on Wheels and Hands of Faith. She was a member of the Women’s Culture Club and enjoyed Water Aerobics.

Doris Jean is survived by seven biological children but the mother of many. Sons; Edward (Holly) Smith Madison, WI, Stanley (Philliss) Smith Rockford, IL, John (Sharon) Smith, Billy Smith, Harry (Angelika Laun) all of Beloit, WI. Daughters; Mary (Terry) Spence Rockford, IL, Martha (Michael) Henning Beloit, WI. Grand Children; Teasha Lapp, Theresa Green, Ashley Butler, JR Henning, Stephan (Abby) Henning, Darcel Smith, Maggie Smith, Emily Smith, Eva Laun-Smith, Lukas Laun-Smith, Loretta Spence, Seth Smith, Gabriel Smith, many great and great great grand children. Like daughters; Staci Fleming, Stephanie Grundy, God-daughter; Tara (Dante) Evans, God-sons; Stanley Clifton and Craig Clifton. Special friends; Gwen (George) Watkins, Joan Burnette and Barb Hyler. Special cousin; Maxine Ricardson and Wilma Hamilton.

Doris Jean is predeceased by her parents, husband and grandson; Anthony Wilson
