Inez Strampe

Inez A. Strampe, age 91, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Casa de Oakes. She was born on May 5, 1926, in Richland County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Everell and Mabel (Brathwaite) Ewing. On June 2, 1947, Inez was united in marriage to Richard E. Strampe. This marriage was blessed with three children. Inez was employed through the years at Badger Ordinance, the Reedsburg Woolen Mill and JcPenney. She also enjoyed her volunteer work at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. Inez was an avid sports fan. She cherished the times she was able to watch her grandchildren in their sporting events; and enjoyed following the Brewers and Badgers. She also played Euchre and other card games with friends and family in her free time. Inez was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; son, Richard Jr.; brother, Donald Ewing; and sisters, Dorothy Nanstad and Mavis Golden. She is survived by her daughters, Debra (Steve) Muchow, and Sally (Dan) Klitzke all of Reedsburg; Grandchildren: Chad (Anastasia) Strampe, Shelli Muchow, Stephen (Carrie) Muchow, Melissa (Nathan) Albrecht, Matthew (Tricia) Klitzke, and Melanie (Brandon) Troia; 14 great grandchildren: Brayden, Garrett, Corbin, Jack, Mason, Avalyn, Kaia, Max, Sabrina, Austin, Taylon, Gavin, Hailey, and Natalyn; Sister, Gyneth Annear of Richland Center; Brother-n-law, Tom Golden of Onalaska; Sister-in-law, Betty Hutchins of Rockford, IL; along with many nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of Casa de Oakes for the wonderful care given to Inez. A memorial service celebrating the life of Inez Strampe will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Reedsburg, with Pastor Dominic Guido officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the church. The Farber Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
