Judy Karstetter

Judy Ann Karstetter, age 71, of LaValle, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017, at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center surrounded by family and friends. She was born on February 13, 1946, in Ironton Township, Sauk County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Isaac and Ida (Fry) Small. Judy graduated from Weston High School. On August 18, 1973, Judy was united in marriage to Joseph E. Karstetter at the Ironton United Methodist Church. Joseph and Judy farmed in rural LaValle until retirement. Judy then became employed with Land’s End in Reedsburg where she worked for over 20 years. Judy was a member of the Advent Christian Church, LaValle, where she was active in several groups including the Dart League. Judy was an accomplished bowler and an avid fan of the Brewers, Packers and Badgers. She also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, canning and was known for her baking, especially her sugar cookies with one of a kind frosting. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; grandson, Scott Karstetter; sister, Margaret Ewers, brother-in-law, Clifford Fry; nieces and nephews: Roland an Brian Karstetter, Linda Zipsie, Lori Boyce, Bonnel Johnson, and Wilson Fry. Judy is survived by her sons, Kurt (Shari) Karstetter of LaValle, Allan (Gail) Karstetter of Loganville, and Dennis (Susann) Karstetter of Gilbert, AZ; Grandchildren: Amy (Brandon) Barriga, Brad Karstetter, Christy Karstetter, and Nicholas Karstetter; Great grandchildren: Chelsey Karstetter, Alexis and James Webster, Selina, Sophia and Brandson Barriga, Madison Karstetter and Ryder Karstetter; Great-great granddaughter, Jocelyn Webster; Sisters, Dorothy Fry and Josephine (Dale) Karstetter; Brothers, David Small, Donald (Mary) Small, Lester (Bonnie) Small, Gifford (Pauline) Fry; Brother-in-law, Eugene Ewers; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Judy Karstetter will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the Advent Christian Church in LaValle with Reverend Richard Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, LaValle. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, and from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
