Helen Rotsted Obituary

Helen H. Rotsted, 94, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center. Helen was born on August 16, 1922, in the Town of Meeme, daughter of George and Ida (Rades) Seifert. She attended Pigeon River School. On February 26, 1944, she married Edgar Rotsted at St. Luke Lutheran Church in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. Edgar passed away in 1989. Helen was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. She was active at the Adell, and the Sheboygan Falls Senior Centers. Helen enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, and quilting, and took many of her items to the County Fair. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and loved all children. Helen will always be remembered for her generous heart. Helen is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Rotsted of Sheboygan Falls; her three grandchildren, Nancy (Steve) Brown of Sheboygan Falls, Tracy (Paul) Zabel of Sheboygan, and Heidi (John) Barrett of Woodstock, GA; seven great-grandchildren, Brian Matulewicz, Erika and Lucille Brown, Logan, Aaron, Madison, and Benjamin Zabel, and Autumn Barrett; her brother, Willard Seifert, and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Edgar; her son, James Rotsted; one sister, Roma (Fritz) Hemb; three brothers, Raymond (Janet) Seifert, Lester (Bonney) Seifert, Melvin (Violet) Seifert; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Seifert and Rose (Norbert) Strassburger; and one brother-in-law, Milfred (Betty, Shirley) Rotsted. A funeral service to celebrate Helen’s life will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday April 10, 2017, at St. Luke Lutheran Church on HWY 32 with Rev. Elizabeth Jaeger officiating. Burial will take place at St. Lucas Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. Relatives and friends may gather at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12:30 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Helen’s name. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staffs of Rocky Noll Health Care Center and Sharron S. Richardson Community Hospice for their dedicated care and compassion. The staff of the Wenig Funeral Home of Sheboygan Falls (920-467-3431) is assisting Helen’s family with arrangements.
