Adeline Zaidel Obituary

Adeline Zaidel, age 92, of Stevens Point passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013 as a result of an automobile accident. A Mass of Christian Burial for Adeline will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday October 18, 2013 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. Thomas Lindner will officiate. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Polonia. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel - Stevens Point. A general rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM by the St. Stanislaus Rosary Society, of which Adeline was a member. Visitation will also be on Friday from 9:30 - 10:15 AM at the funeral chapel. Adeline was born October 24, 1920 in the Town of Dewey, the daughter of Carl and Agnes (Walenski) Wrycha. Adeline was married to Stanley Zaidel on October 23, 1943 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Torun. The couple settled in Chicago, then later moved to Lombard, Illinois, and Adeline worked at York High School in the Elmhurst (IL) Public School District until retiring in 1987 after 21 years. She moved back to Stevens Point in 1987 following the death of her husband the previous year. She enjoyed listening to polka music, flower gardening, golf, playing cards, baking, cooking, and she loved to travel. Among the many places she visited were: Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, France, Switzerland, Poland, Russia, Israel, and the Caribbean Islands. Adeline is survived by her son Lenard (Sharon) Zaidel, Doniphan, MO; her granddaughter, Dawn (Daniel) Strojny, Saint Paul, MN; her daughter Doris of California; and her grandchildren of California: Jerome, Donald, Stacy, and Michelle. She is also survived by her sister, Florence (Chester) Wojtalewicz, Stevens Point. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers: Herman,Edward and Ray Wrycha; and four sisters: Clara Glenn, Eleanor Firkus, Evelyn Wrycha and Rita Kozak.
