Romona Hurd

Romona H. Hurd age 73, of Rosholt, passed away Saturday morning September 3, 2011 at Sylvan Crossing Memory Care in Stevens Point. A mass of christian burial for Romona will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday September 6, 2011 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. Rev. Greg Michaud will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 10:00 AM Tuesday until the time of services at the church. Shuda Funeral Service of Plover and Stevens Point are assisting the family. Romona was born August 3, 1938 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Roman and Helen (Kendal) Seitz, she graduated from Pius High School. She married Robert Hurd in 1957 in Milwaukee. Romona served as the head executive chef at A.O. Smith Company, and later at Sentry Foods until her retirement in 1995. Shortly after the couple moved to Rosholt. Romona continued cooking and and served at both the Central WI Lions Camp and the Rosholt Fair. She is survived by her husband Robert, their three children: Roberta Hurd, Milwaukee, Roger Hurd, Milwaukee, Raquel Hurd, Rosholt. 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. One sister Karen Gruenewald, Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Rita, and brother George.
