She was born on a farm, March 26, 1914, near St. Peter, Minnesota, daughter of Herman and

school system serving as a study hall teacher and then as a textbook librarian. For 61 years she
was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church where she served on the altar guild and participated
in circle, bible study and quilting group, making blankets for Lutheran World Relief. ??
Doris was active in the Carroll women’s group. Neighbors took notice of her vegetable and flower
gardens. The family looked forward to her homemade yeast buns. Family Christmas trees were
full of handmade ornaments that are reminders of her love for crafts.

Merrimac, WI, and Dorine (the late Abdulah) Abdulelah of Kuwait/Chicago; one sister, Maurine
Bexell of Hastings, MN; and a sister-in-law, Marvel Nelson of Winthrop, MN. Doris is further
