Carrol P. Orrison, 87, of Cheyenne and Casper passed away on December 25, 2016 in Cheyenne.
He was born May 19, 1929 in Sapulpa, OK to Carl and Edyth Orrison. He was the owner of Casper Beverage in Casper and former owner of Orrison Distributing in Cheyenne and Glenwood Springs, CO.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge as a 32nd degree Mason, Cowboy Joe Club, Casper Chamber of Commerce, National Beer Wholesalers and was a past board member, Wyoming Beer Distributers Association, Board Member of Equality State Bank, Wyoming State legislator for 3 terms, Military Affairs Committee, Pilots Association of America, Wyoming Board of Aviation, Wyoming State Board of Equalization (appointed by Gov. Herschler) Cheyenne Sheriff’s Posse, Volunteer of Cheyenne Frontier Days and HEELS, and was an active Harley Davidson rider. He was a delegate for Wyoming to the Democratic National Convention, and was the Chairman of Wyoming DNC for a period of time.
He is survived by Barbara Orrison of Cheyenne; son and daughter in law, Richard and Janet Orrison of Carbondale, CO, grandchildren, Rachael Orrison Clark of Cheyenne, Stephenie Holmes of Denver, Mark Holmes of Cheyenne, Richard McElroy of Denver, Angela Akodu of Jacksonville, FL; devoted friend and companion, Margaret “Maggie” Perrott of Cheyenne and her daughter, Lisa (Randy) O’Dell of Cheyenne and her grandchildren James O’Dell and Kassie Moser of Cheyenne and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Edyth Orrison; daughter, Debra Orrison Holmes, and a twin brother, Carl Orrison, Jr.; and Maggie’s son, Chad V. Shunn.
Carrol touched so many lives with his generosity and kindness, and will be deeply missed by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in his memory to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
Private family services will be held. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
