William Herchek

On May 18, 2016, William Herchek passed away at the age of 90 years. William will be deeply missed by his loving sisters, Ann Kilistoff, Pearl McNaughton and Helen Manktelow; nieces and nephews, Steven (Robin) Kilistoff, Cathy Kilistoff, Terry (Betty) Kowalchuk, Claudia Kowalchuk, Christine (Mark) Whitman, Andy (Alison) Kowalchuk, Connie (David) Hargreaves, Jayne (Warren) Manktelow, Curtis Manktelow and Lynda Manktelow and their families that include sixteen great-nieces and great-nephews. William was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Magdelena Hrehirchek; siblings, Mary, Michael, George, Nick, Kost and Marie; brothers-in-law, Joe Kilistoff, Gordon Manktelow, and Jack McNaughton; sister-in-law, Rita Hrehirchuk; nephew, John Kilistoff and niece, Martha Ann Kilistoff. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Shepherd’s Care Vanguard, who became a second family to William. We are also deeply grateful to the staff at Villa Caritas, who helped William tremendously over the last six years, as well as to the nursing staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Units 53 and 41, who cared for William in his last weeks of life. Prayers Thursday, May 26 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Barbara Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 10105 – 96 Street, Edmonton, AB. Funeral Rite Friday, May 27 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Barbara Russian Orthodox Cathedral. Archpriest Sergey Kipriyanovich and Reverend Oleksii Suraiev officiating with interment in St. Mary’s Russo Orthodox Church Cemetery, Chipman, AB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Caritas Foundation, Shepherd’s Care Foundation or to the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation.
