Longtime resident of The Pas, Catherine Wilkinson and formerly of Emerson, Manitoba, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 26, 2015, at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba at the age of 76 years. Catherine was born Saturday, July 2, 1938 at Carberry, Manitoba. She was united in marriage to Mervin Thomas (Chewy) Wilkinson at Emerson, Manitoba and they had celebrated 35 years of marriage before his passing in May 10, 1993. She was a woman, who with her husband enjoyed camping, traveling and tending to her flower beds. In her quiet times, she enjoyed reading under the watchful eyes of her many owls…. large and small. She loved all her family and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. In keeping with family wishes, cremation has taken place and a service of remembrance to celebrate Catherine’s life at a later date in Minnedosa, Manitoba. Catherine is survived by her three daughters Carolyn of The Pas, Rosanne (Ben) of Wainwright, AB, Norma (Dean) of Asquith, SK; grandchildren Patricia, Jarred, Dylan and Jenna; sister Betty (Laverne) McNamara of Warsaw, MO; sister-in-law Ann (Ralph) Twamley of Drayton, ND; numerous nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and other relatives too numerous to mention. Catherine was predeceased by her husband Mervin Thomas; parents Norman and Jean McKay; husband’s parents Thomas and Mary Wilkinson; brother Frank Elliott; sister Gail Dyrda.
