Richard (Dick) Alexander Danielson was born Thursday, October 25, 1925 at Winnipegosis, Manitoba.
Richard was predeceased by his wife Elsie (nee Baker); parents Charles and Marianne; sisters Suzie Yee, Dora Munroe, Rita Samatte, Mary Anderchuck, and Cecile Danielson; brothers Ray and Roy; fiancé Ida St. Goddard.
Richard is survived by his children Ken (Gail), Janice, Debbie, JoAnne (Dennis), Gloria (Todd), and Richard (Candice); brothers Chuck (Grace), Adolph (Carol), Edward; sister Marlene (Arnold); and many nieces, nephews and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Dick worked at various jobs such as logging, CNR, and heavy construction until he found his passion in trapping and commercial fishing. Both of which he passed his trade secrets on to his sons and grandsons, and a handful of friends. As an avid crib player to the very end, you could always count on Dick to be one of the cagiest of players, with a side order of one of his favorite dishes – a good fry of Jack Fish. Music was one of Dick’s great passions that he shared with family and friends. Whether he sang or played the fiddle or guitar, his expression of music came right from his heart. While on the trap line, his best friend and companion was his dog Fido, whom he loved and respected, as Fido saved his life on two occasions.
