In Loving Memory June 3, 1939 – December 12th, 2018 It is with great sorrow that the family of Jim Benson announces his passing on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at the age of 79. Jim is survived by his children Dana (Jo-Anne) and Rhonda (Tom) Cassidy, his grandchildren Shawn (Cailey) and Stephanie, as well as his two great grandchildren Nolan and Silas. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to everyone. Jim was predeceased by his loving wife Lillian (née Burkholder) Jim loved volunteering his time and would take it very seriously. You could always find Jim at the Crunch games guarding the doors while talking with every friendly face that approached him. Jim’s favourite place to volunteer was at the Timmins and District Hospital every Wednesday and Thursday. In respecting Jim’s wishes, there will be no visitations or funeral. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Lady Minto Hospital Hospice room (palliative care). The family would like to thank the nurses and staff who comforted Jim during his last few days. You all hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you to Dr. McPherrin who followed Jim’s wishes until the end.
