Leonard Czelusniak

<p>Leonard Czelusniak, 93, of Hillcrest Spring Assisted Living Community, Amsterdam, NY; and formerly of Country Ridge Drive, passed away February 1, 2023 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in Amsterdam, NY on April 1, 1929, the son of the late Jacob and Libbie Konieczena Czelusniak.</p><p><br></p><p>Lenny graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School, Amsterdam, and Bryant College in Providence, RI with a B.S. in Accounting.</p><p><br></p><p>Following his retirement from the General Electric Company finance department in 1989, he then became the accountant for June’s Hallmark.</p><p><br></p><p>Lenny was honorably discharged from the United States Army, having served in the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1952.</p><p><br></p><p>He was parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Amsterdam and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Society , the G.E. Quarter Century Club and the Turbine Supervisor’s Association at G.E. </p><p><br></p><p>Lenny was predeceased by his wife, June Corrigan Czelusniak on May 1, 2010, his sister Regina Czelusniak in 2009. He is survived by two sons, Gary Chatnik (Vicki) of Satellite Beach, FL; and Don Chadwick (Heidi) of New York City, five grandchildren, Lauren Bergin, (Colin), Corinne (Andrew), and Leah Chatnik and Knox and Wade Chadwick, one brother, Norbert Czelusniak (Pat). Nieces and nephews also survive.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral Services will be Friday, February 3, 2023 at 10:00 am the Riley Mortuary, 110 Division., Amsterdam, NY with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. presiding.</p><p><br></p><p>Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.</p><p><br></p><p>Interment will be private at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial gifts in Lenny’s name may be made to St. Mary’s Institute, 10 Kopernik Boulevard or The Foundation of St. Mary’s Healthcare, 427 Guy Park Avenue, both of Amsterdam, NY 12010</p><p><br></p><p> To leave online condolences please visit www.rileymortuaryinc.com </p><p><br></p>
