Edwin D. "Eddie" Swope, 77, of Bernville, Pa, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 4, 2017. Born in Womelsdorf on March 11, 1940, he was the only son of Donald Swope and the late Elsie (Koch) Swope. Eddie was the beloved husband of Linda D. (Mull) Swope for 52 years. Eddie was a graduate of Conrad Weiser High School, class of 1958. In his younger days, Eddie was employed by Worley Lumber Company, Rich Maid Kitchens, and Rich Craft Kitchens. In 1980, he started his own kitchen cabinet business, Heidelberg Wood Specialties, which he operated for 27-years. After retirement, he developed a passion for restoring wagons and making miniature wagons; many of which he showed for years at the Berks County Heritage Festival. Eddie was a member of St. Thomas Church in Bernville. He was an avid race car fan, loved playing cards with his family and taking care of his animals. In addition to his wife and father, Eddie is survived by three children: Candace L. Paulson, wife of Charles F. of Bernville, Sean E. Swope, husband of Linda M. (McLeod) of Lenhartsville, and Yvette M. Emerich, wife of Chris A. of Bernville. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Molly (Paulson) Bachik, wife of Nathan of Pittsburgh, Samantha (Paulson) Mourar, wife of Zachary of Shillington, Hannah Emerich of Bernville, and Seth Emerich of Bernville. The funeral service will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, 536 N Main St, Bernville, PA 19506, officiated by Reverend Dr. Daniel Lute. The family will receive friends and relatives from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church just prior to the funeral. Interment will take place immediately following the funeral in St. Thomas Cemetery.
