Obituary of Marjorie Daisy Fleming
FLEMING, Marjorie Daisy (nee Merrick) – Passed peacefully in her sleep at Peterborough Extendicare, on the morning of Sunday July 7, 2019. Marj of Peterborough, who was raised in the Beaches area of Toronto, was in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Donald Murray Fleming. Loving mother of Peter Donald and David Murray. Dear grandmother of Amanda and Michael. Great grandmother of Corrina. Dear sister of the late Winnifred, Leonard, and Gwendolyn.
She retired as a medical secretary from The Hospital For Sick Children, Toronto. Marj was an avid gardener and reader. She loved her cats and dogs. She and Donald met during the war at The Dardanella Beach Club, Wasaga Beach, began an East-West Toronto romance, enjoyed years at their cottage on Upper Buckhorn Lake and were deeply in love for 50 years.
Cremation entrusted to Community Alternative Funeral Home. A private interment will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
