Larry Roy Westfall Obituary

Larry Roy Westfall passed away peacefully May 29, 2018 at his home in Mesquite, Nevada. Born November 11, 1944 in Estherville, Iowa, to Charles Roy Westfall and Lilly Marie Hansen. He was confirmed in Bethel Lutheran Church in Graettinger, Ia. He attended Graettinger Schools Kindergarten through High School graduating 1962. He excelled in baseball and basketball all through school.
In 1964 he married Linda Starkey and they moved to La Mirada, California, where Larry began his lifelong career in the trucking industry. He later married Pauline Stuart, who preceded him in death in 1983. In 1985 he married Mavis Newstrom. He was part owner of a trucking business in Pomona, California, Patio Farm Lines. Larry worked for several other trucking companies in southern California before he and Mavis moved to Idaho in 1993 and retired from Penn Pacific Trucking as General Manager in 2012. He and Mavis then retired to Mesquite, Nevada.
Left to cherish Larry's memory are his wife Mavis of Nevada; son Chris of Arizona; step children Eileen Coppola of California and Tony Coppola of California; grandson Timothy Matthew of Utah; granddaughter Rachel Nicole of Arizona; 1 step grandson; 3 step granddaughters; and 5 great grandchildren. Sisters in law: Marge Westfall of Minnesota and Helen Westfall of California; nieces: Barbara Westfall of Minnesota, Jackie Nelson of Iowa, Edith Clarken (Mike) of Iowa, Marie Grems of Iowa, Lori Westfall of Iowa; and Connie Ballou California; and one nephew Chuck Westfall of Iowa.
He also leaves behind his former wife Linda Walrath and her sisters: Gale Nelson, Becky Murray and Kay Starkey; who he always called his sisters.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his infant brother Ervin and his sister Darlene, his son Timothy Dale, his wife Pauline, his 3 older brothers: Lyle and his wife Alice, Virgil, Orville and his wife Inez.
Larry always felt Graettinger was his home, he came back as often as possible and always made sure to have a Westfall reunion at Woody's Pizza in Estherville, Iowa. His family has always been very important to him.
He and Mavis were able to make many friends in Mesquite, Nevada, and traded hosting poker parties and playing dominos with friends. We will all miss his dry sense of humor and one-line zingers.
You are home again at last my darling.
