Laverta Jones Stinson was born July 19, 1955 in Mobile, Alabama to the late James Jones, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Pledger. She departed this life on Friday, September 6, 2019. Laverta loved reading and shopping. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. Most of all she took pleasure in caring for others and volunteering. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Stinson; parents; two daughters, Shantaye Stinson and Lakeisha Vuichard; and sister, Deora Tinsley. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her children, Willie (Dawn) Jones and Shannon Vuichard; siblings, Geraldine Knowles, John H. King, Cora N. Kyser, Hattie Wright, James Jones, Jr., Marshall D. Jones, and Marilyn (Mckinley) Johnson; a host of other relatives and friends and special devoted friends, Minnie Flowers and Sherry Flowers A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
