Lee Paulsel Tucson, Arizona Obituary

Lee Paulsel

Lee Paulsel, age 77, was called to his forever home by the gentle hand of his Lord Jesus on February 20, 2014. His passing was peaceful guided by his faith and the love of his family. He will no longer be fighting cancer as he had since March, 2013. Lee is in Heaven; and after thanking the Lord and greeting his parents and friends, he has, no doubt, gone off to look for Copernicus, Galileo, and Kepler. He sees the planets and stars now from the other side. What a glorious sight it must be! Lee was born September 14, 1936, in Fort Worth, Texas, and received his degree in business from Texas Christian University. Lee worked in the family business, Paulsel Lumber Co., until 1988, when he closed the company and then retired to Tucson, Arizona, in 1996. There Lee was able to pursue his lifelong passion for astronomy as a docent at Kitt Peak National Observatory and by working with Project Astro, introducing the starry heavens to young school children. Love of country is one way Lee wants to be remembered. He served as president of the U.S. Navy League in Tucson and was an active lifelong member of the Air Force Association. Lee is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Pat. He is also survived with loving memories by his family: daughter, Phyllis Elikai, and her husband, Fara, of Wilmington, North Carolina; and his son, Scott Paulsel, his wife, Joanna, and granddaughter, Lily, who live in Phoenix. He is also survived by his buddy, Ginger, a Boston terrier who provided great comfort in his last days. Services will be held at the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Tucson on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Lee requested donations to either: The St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Choir, or to the University of Arizona Department of Astronomy (www.as.arizona.edu/make-a-gift). Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
