Ruby Claudine Travis, 83, of Atkins, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at her home. She was born January 22, 1929 in Cave City the daughter of Robert L. and Zettie Bone McVey. She was a member of Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doyle Travis; and four brothers, Kenneth, Shelby, Delma Gene and Roy Neil McVey. She is survived by a daughter, Patsy Travis of Atkins; two brothers, Doyle McVey of Russellville and David McVey of Atkins; two grandchildren, Rhonda Pace and Erick Sweeden both of Atkins; 6 great-grandchildren, Haleigh Caughron, Brent Caughron, Jessi Howell, Shelby Howell, Blake Sweeden and Brandy Sweeden; and 2 great-great-granddaughters, Paislie Caughron and Staleigh Crigger. Funeral service is 10:00 AM Thursday, February 2 at Lemley Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Bishop and Rev. Bob Alexander officiating. Burial is in Oakland Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is 6-8:00 PM Wednesday. Pallbearers are Bill Haralson, Gerald Johnston, Bill Jordan, Robert Travis, Robert Murdoch and Tim Whittenburg.
