Joel Ferguson

Joel Richard Ferguson of Ignacio, passed April 14th, 2015 in Durango. He was 33 years old. Joel was born January 7th, 1982 in Durango, CO to Gaillyn and Terry Ferguson. He grew up in various places such as Florida, Mesa AZ and graduated from High school in Florida. He enjoyed working for Red Willow Production Company with the Southern Ute Indian Tribe. He was a great friend, brother, son, and daddy. He loved to hunt, fish and be in his Colorado Mountains. Friends and family were paramount in his life and his true passion. Joel is survived by his wife: Arielle, children: Emily and Memphis, Brother: Jacob, mother: Terry, Aunts: Fern & Sharon, and many extended family, close friends, nieces, nephews, and his 2 dogs: Jade and Fiona. He is preceded in death by his father: Gaillyn "Pete" Ferguson, and uncle: Morris "Butch" Ferguson. He is now resting and at peace with them. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joel's memory to a trust fund that is being created for Joel's children at 1st National Bank or to any suicide prevention organization. A celebration of Joel's life will be held at 2:00pm, April 20th, at the Durango Elks Lodge, 901 East 2nd Avenue, Durango, CO.
