Angela "Angie" Panek

Angela “Angie” (Coronna) Panek, of Enfield entered into eternal life at the age of 90 on Friday (Feb. 3, 2012) at Hartford Hospital. She was the widow of Frank S. Panek (April 1992). Angie was born on June 30, 1921 in the Thompsonville Sec. of Enfield, daughter of the late Saverio and Josephine (Oddo) Caronna and was a lifelong resident. Before retiring Angie was a Cashier at Caronna’s Market for 50 years and had worked prior to that at the Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co. She enjoyed traveling, the beach, jigsaw puzzles, Sunday dinners with family and cherished memories of the Disney vacation with her children & grandchildren. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Churh. Angie is survived by her three loving daughters; Margaret Sylvester of Enfield, Joanne Simpson of Enfield and Frances Boucher & her husband Chris of Ashford, her four beloved grandchildren; Denise Hodgert, Karen Sylvester, Michael Simpson and Shelli Boucher and two great grandsons; Garrett & Lucas. She is also survived by her siblings Joseph Caronna of Houston, TX, Anthony Caronna & his wife Betty of Enfield, Saverio “Sam” Caronna, Jr. of Enfield, Vincy Discenza of Windsor and a dear sister-in-law Laura Caronna of Enfield along with many nieces, nephews. Angie was also predeceased by siblings Anna Noto, Mary Lamphire, Frank Caronna, Philip Caronna and son-in-law Edward Sylvester. Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Monday (Feb. 6, 2010) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. The funeral procession will form on Tuesday (Feb. 7, 2012) at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Patrick’s Church Pearl & High Streets Enfield for a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Office of Radio & Television, Archdioceses of Hartford, 15 Peach Orchard Rd.
