Helen Flanagan Obituary

Helen V. Flanagan, of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal life surrounded by her loving family on Friday (February 15, 2013) at the Suffield House. She was the beloved wife of 51 years to the late William W. Flanagan and daughter of the late John and Mary Moticka. Helen was born on Feb. 24, 1920 in Newark, NJ and had resided in Enfield for the past 8 years and in New Mexico before that. She was a graduate of Stratford High School, Stratford, CT and continued her education at Booth & Bayliss Business School in Bridgeport, CT. A devout catholic Helen was a member of St. Martha Church in Enfield, as well as a member of the fitness center and book club at the Enfield Senior Citizen Center. In her leisure time she enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling. Helen is survived by her step daughter; Sandra Schroeder of IL, step granddaughter; Jill Nicole Schroeder of CA, her great nieces and nephews; Luanne Gagnon of Windsor Locks, Joanne Jambard of Enfield, Robert Moticka of Windsor Locks and Daniel Moticka of East Windsor along with several grandnieces, grandnephews and friends. Relatives and friends may gather during calling hours on Saturday (Feb. 23, 2013) from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Martha Church 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield. Interment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Team Mighty Oliver C/O First National Bank of Suffield, 6 National Dr. Windsor Locks, CT 06096.
