J. Paul McCann

Joseph Paul McCann, of Broad Brook, passed suddenly on Monday (May 14, 2012) at the age of 69. Paul was the beloved husband of 49 years to Barbara (Pezze) McCann and son of the late Charles H. and Mary (Teague) McCann and had resided in Broad Brook for many years after growing up in Williamstown, MA. He was employed as a tool maker for many years both in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Paul was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was a quiet man, one of few words, and left his mark on the many people he met. He enjoyed taking rides in his truck with his dog “Maggie”. Paul’s work ethic and commitment to detail were an example for everyone. Besides his loving wife Barbara, Paul is also survived by his loving daughter, Stacy McCann and her partner Allen Hamlin of Lee, MA, his beloved granddaughter, Samantha Johnson and many nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Bohl and a brother, Charles H. McCann, Jr. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Thursday (May 17, 2012) from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Barry Andrusik officiating at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Paul’s memory may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell St., Newington, CT 06111.
