Robert “Bobby” E. Fournier, Sr. 72, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Thursday (May 24, 2012) at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center, with his loving family by his side. Robert was the beloved husband of 53 years to Dorothy A. (Chamberlain) Fournier. He was born on November 26, 1939 in Hartford, CT, son of the late Theodore L. and Albina M. (Cousineau) Fournier and had resided in Enfield for the past 50 years. Prior to retiring in 2001, Robert was employed as an engineer with CSX-Conrail for 33 years. In his leisure time he loved golfing and traveling but his greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Bobby was loved by everyone he came in contact with - he had a quick smile and a wonderful laugh. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Church and had a very deep faith. Besides his loving wife and best friend Dorothy, he is also survived by his three children; Ann Marie Deweese of Sandy Hook, Ted Fournier & his wife Jackie of Enfield and Robert E. Fournier, Jr. & his wife Mary Beth of North Haven, his ten beloved grandchildren; Scott Deweese & wife Laura, Chrissy Deweese, Katie Deweese, Becca Carling & husband Kevin, John Fournier & wife Justin, Teddy Fournier, Kyle, Kevin, Katelyn and Kristen Fournier and his four great-grandchildren; Kiera & Gregory Deweese and Jacob & Isabella Carling. Robert also leaves three siblings; Lorraine Guilmartin of W. Hartford, Richard Fournier & his wife Estelle of S.Windsor and Lois Latraverse & her husband Armand of Dayville, many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law and numerous friends. The family would also like to thank all the doctors and nurses who were so kind and caring and took such loving care of him during his short stay at St. Francis Hospital. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Monday (May 28, 2012) from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. The funeral procession will form at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday (May 29, 2012) to Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.
