Sadie Deni

Sadie (Maniscalco) Deni, 96, of Enfield, beloved wife of 57 years to the late Joseph Deni, entered into eternal peace on Saturday (October 26, 2013) at the Suffield House, surrounded by her loving family. Sadie was born on May 7, 1917 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, daughter of the late Salvatore and Angela (Pizzitola) Maniscalco. She was a lifelong resident of Enfield and communicant of St. Patrick Church. Sadie was a graduate of the former St. Joseph’s school and Enfield High School Class of “1935”. She was employed with the historic Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co. in the personnel department for 12 years and with the Town of Enfield Tax Dept. for 24 years, retiring in 1982. Sadie was a member of AARP, and loyal advocate of the Navy Seabees. She and Joe, who served in the Navy attended Seabee reunions annually. Sadie and her husband Joe enjoyed a lifetime of extensive traveling in the states and abroad. Sadie is survived by her brother Ignatius Maniscalco and his wife Carol of Enfield, her nieces; Joanne Beaulieu of Enfield and family, Barbara Scavotto-Earley & her husband Richard of Enfield and family, Janet Centore & her husband Chip of Enfield and family, Kathleen Liucci of AZ, and Cheryl Deal & her husband Douglas of Somers and son, her nephews; Michael Maniscalco & his wife Peggy Powers-Maniscalco of MA, and son, Atty Mark Maniscalco & his wife Colleen of Somers and son, along with several cousins. Sadie was also predeceased by her sisters Carme Scavotto & her husband Louis, and Lucy Liucci & her husband Tony. The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the Suffield House and to the exceptional care given to her by nurses; Heidi, Pam & Jennifer and the social services of Kim and physical therapy of Terri. Family and friends may gather on Saturday (November 2, 2013) from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by a procession to St. Patrick Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Patrick Church 64 Pearl St. Enfield or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
