Catherine “Kay” Feeley Phelan, age 82, beloved wife of the late Peter Franklyn Phelan Jr., died Tuesday January 21, 2014 in Milford Hospital. Kay was born September 3, 1931 in Worcester, MA., daughter of the late James E. and Catherine R. Erb Feeley. Mrs. Phelan was a Registered Nurse at Milford Hospital over thirty five years. She was a member of the Milford Senior Center, Ladies Guild of St. Mary’s Church, former nurse at St. Mary’s School, Milford Hospital Volunteer, sewing club of Christ the Redeemer Parish and an avid Bingo player. She is survived by her devoted children Jane Hill, Theresa Pauloski (Richard) all of West Haven, Peter F. Phelan III (Teresa) of Meriden, Jacqueline Wydra (Steven) of West Haven, and Tracey Williams (David) of Milford, grandchildren Paul, Tanya, Danielle, Joseph, Jessica, Michael, Jennifer, Meghan, Sarah, Caitlin, Shannon and Brenna and great granddaughter Isabelle. She is also survived by brothers James E., Paul V., Richard E., and Joseph C. Feeley all of MA., sisters Rita Stencel of MA., Patricia J. East of FL., and Ruth M. Walsh of Milford and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband and parents she is predeceased by a daughter Catherine Phelan, brothers John, Wilfred and Harold Feeley , sisters Mary E. Henning and Helen Vela. Calling hours are Friday, January 24, 2014 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 25th at 9:00 am DIRECTLY in St. Mary’s Church, Gulf St., Milford. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to the John Rigley Food Pantry of St. Mary’s Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT 06460 or Milford Fire Department Toys for Tots, 55 Wheelers Farm Rd., Milford, CT 06461.
