Madolin Skinner

Madolin J. Skinner, age 94, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019 in Destin, FL. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Little Oak United Methodist Church. Skeen Funeral Home of Troy will be in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Skinner was born January 9, 1925 to the late George Dalton Johnson and Olgie Myrle Schofield Johnson McVay. In addition to her parents Mrs. Skinner was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, M.W. Skinner, her still born infant son, and a son, Marvin Will (Mark) Skinner, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, daughters, Allyson Skinner Pitman, Destin, FL and Stephanie Skinner Wells, Huntsville, AL; sister, Nadine Johnson, Daphne, AL; sister-in-law, Frances J. Baker, Huntsville, AL; aunt, Irene Schofield Carter, Goshen, AL; several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, great grand nieces and nephews, and many Johnson and Schofield cousins; beloved and special nieces and nephew, Sheila Floyd, Keith and Linda Snyder. Since 2008 Mrs. Skinner has been the oldest living member of Little Oak United Methodist Church. Mrs. Skinner was a devoted wife, loving mother, not only to her own children but to her extended family as well. She retired from the Goshen Post Office after serving for 22 years as Clerk and Post Master Replacement. After retirement she enjoyed her church activities, spending time with her family and especially with friends at Goshen Senior Center. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Little Oak United Methodist Church, c/o Keith Snyder, 5988 County Road 2290, Goshen, AL 36035.
