Donnie Garner Obituary

Donnie Lee Garner, 66, of Navarre, FL, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. Born in Albany, KY, Donnie graduated from Manual High School and attended Indiana University and Purdue University, both in Indianapolis, IN. Donnie proudly served in the U.S. Air Force in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He was a retired Building Materials Outside Salesman. He had a wittiness about him that kept everyone who knew him laughing. Always conversational, he never met a stranger. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents Waymon and Eula (Wray) Garner; and his son Ryan Jacob Garner. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Debbie Brown Garner; his rescued doggies, Jimmy, Jakey, and Rosie; granddaughter, Maya “Little Missy” Garner; step-grandchildren, Troy (Jessica) Dupree and Shaun Dupree; and step-great-grandchildren, Jacob and Madison Dupree; brothers, Bobby (Sheryl) Garner and Ronnie (Sheila) Garner; and sister, Sandy (Joe) Garner;, and was blessed with many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of the Baptist Hospital Pensacola Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for their care and kindness during Donnie’s hospital stay, and dear friends Darleen and Troy Bossier for their never-ending support. At Donnie’s request, a private memorial at his home in Navarre will be conducted at a later date. Donations may be made, in his memory, to Save Our Cocker Spaniels, 1429 Players Club Circle, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563, or via PayPal to saveourcockerspaniels@gmail.com, or the charity of your choice. Lewis Funeral Home of Navarre has been entrusted with arrangements.
