Eugene Melahn Obituary

Eugene W Melahn 70 of Manchester died Monday March 2nd at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He worked for 50 years as a Sheet Metal Worker for Local #25, Carlstadt. Born in Irvington he lived in Union for 39 years before moving to Manchester in 1998. He was an active member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manchester and volunteered to count and deposit the weekly collection and always helped with the routine maintenance. He was a member of the Hillside Elks BPOE # 1591. He was an avid saltwater fisherman who loved crabbing and loved to share his passions with his grandchildren. He is predeceased by a son, Eugene A in 1960. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Ann “Nancy” J Feehan Melahn, sons, Daniel E of East Windsor, Joseph J & wife Marie of Toms River, James W & wife Janice of Fremont, CA, daughters and son-in-laws, Denise J & Daniel DeFalco of Manville, and Dawn R & Lawrence D’Aries of Colonia, sister Marie Ott of Whiting and 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Memorial Services are Saturday, March 14th, 10 AM Redeemer Lutheran Church Manchester.
