Fannie Mae Burgess Tullis

Fannie Mae Burgess Tullis, age 93, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020. Born on May 24, 1927, in Habersham County, she was a daughter of the late Walt and Mary Burgess. Mrs. Tullis was a seamstress and attended Mt. Airy Baptist Church. She loved her animals and her family, especially the kids. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Tullis; son, Melvin Tullis; brothers, Cromer Burgess and Ernest Burgess; and sisters, Sadie Freeman and Minnie Burgess. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Teresa Tullis; daughters and son-in-law, Phyllis and Ronnie Stanich and Eva Mae Tyler; grandchildren: Rocky Tullis, Adam Tullis, Missy Tullis, Vickie Tyler, James Stanich, and Kathy Stanich; multiple great-grandchildren; and special relative, Matthew Gosnell. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Monday, December 28, 2020, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Dr. Butch Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Airy Baptist Church, P.O. Box 258, Mt. Airy, Georgia 30563. Those in attendance are asked to please adhere to the public health and social distancing guidelines regarding COVID-19.
