Herdus Arrington

Herdus C. Arrington, Jr. age 85 of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 following an extended illness. Born in Vallejo, California on November 01, 1931, he was a son of the late Herdus Coffey Arrington, Sr. & Grace Thelma Miller Arrington. Mr. Arrington served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a Japanese Interpreter. He was a 1960 graduate of Tri-State University where he received an Engineering Degree. Mr. Arrington retired from Schlegel as a Mechanical Engineer. Mr. Arrington was the Past Worshipful Master with the Frederick Masonic Lodge #249 F & A.M. and Past Worthy Patron with the Order of the Eastern Star. He was of the Methodist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Chandler Hudgins. Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Rita Trammell Arrington of Demorest, GA; children, Jenna & Alex Sithideth of Alto, GA; Kevin & Shanda Hudgins of Penskie, PA; Debra Farr, Deanna Halajcik, Denice Arrington, Trey Arrington, all of South Carolina; sister, Pat McKenzie of San Francisco, California; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; other relatives & friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors provided. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.
