Rita May Heisler, the daughter of Kathryn White and Edwin Beckner, was born April 8, 1948, in Sioux City, Iowa. She died November 15, 2019, at her home in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 71 years.

She received her education in the Sioux City schools.

On January 8, 1964, Rita married the love of her life, Gary R. Heisler Sr. in Nebraska. The couple raised their family in Sioux City and Estherville until 1988. The couple moved to Florida until the passing of her husband, Gary, on December 27, 2006. Rita then made her home in Estherville.

In her leisure time she enjoyed smoking, watching television, and spending time with her family and friends. Rita enjoyed collecting Native American memorabilia and her visits from the "Georgia Girls."

Left to cherish Rita's memory are her children, Gary Heisler Jr. of Iowa, Donna Heisler of Spencer, Iowa, Clint Heisler of Florida, and Dawn Heisler Juchem of Ruthven, Iowa. Rita had many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Rita has been preceded in death by her husband, Gary R. Heisler Sr. and her siblings.
