Bolton-Nella (Bowden) Perkins, 94, passed away peacefully at Marlborough Hospital on Saturday, June 9, 2018 following a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Irving Perkins. She is survived by her children, Daleen Perkins, with whom she lived, of Bolton; Bryce Perkins of Palm Harbor, FL; Mark Perkins of Carrolton, TX; and Amy Kunst & husband Gerald P. Kunst, Jr., of Stow. She leaves her adoring grandchildren & their spouses, Linda & Derek Gothie; Matthew & Jamie Perkins; Haley & Justin DeCarlo; and Jack Perkins; great-grandchildren, Michael & Julia Wilfert, Alex & Greg Gothie, Geo & Jayda DeCarlo, and Wilson Perkins; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She is pre-deceased by her most beloved son Scott, her siblings, Mildred Marble, Elsie Thornton, Malcolm, Wallace, and Bud Bowden, and grandchildren, Manyika Perkins and Gerald P. Kunst III.

Nella was born in Rumford, Maine to the late Alanson & Annie (Grant) Bowden. She graduated from the Stephens High School and achieved her professional degree form Fisher Junior College. In addition to raising her family, Nella worked for numerous companies throughout her lifetime and would best be remembered for driving school bus, operating Nella’s Apple Stand on 117 in Bolton, and serving her town as a mail carrier. Nella closely followed town politics and was an active member of her community. She was an avid reader, an accomplished writer, and long-time columnist for the Clinton Item. Nella was a woman of great faith and life member of the First Parish of Bolton who served on numerous boards and church committees. She and Irving enjoyed many years of travel and proudly visited all 50 states. Nella was happiest while in the company of her family and will be forever missed as their devoted matriarch. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 12PM on Saturday, June 16, 2018 in the First Parish of Bolton, 673 Main St. Burial will be held privately in South Cemetery, Bolton. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton.
