Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019 at James Chapel Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas.  Interment will be at Rosehill Garden Cemetery, Marshall, Texas.  Visitation will be Friday, December 20, 2019 at Peoples Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Obituary Johnny Earl Jackson was born January 20, 1944, to the late Mr. Lindsay D. and Annie M. Jackson of Marshall, Texas.  Johnny confessed Christ at an early age, and was baptized at the James Chapel Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas. Mr. Jackson obtained his formal education from the Marshall Independent School District, and graduated from Pemberton High School in 1962. He continued his education at Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma. Getting the job done was something that Mr. Jackson took pride in. No task was too great or small. He retired after a successful career of almost three decades from the Texas State Highway Department. His wide range of skills afforded him the opportunity to be sought after to do jobs of roofing, painting, plumbing, residential repairs and maintenance. Johnny’s personality drew people to him, allowing him not to meet a stranger. He and his high school classmates had a strong bond that continued to grow tighter over the years. He always enjoyed serving on the planning committee for their class reunions. He was just as loved by his family and took just as much pride in family gatherings.  Johnny was first married to Betty Ann Perkins of Houston, Texas and to this union, one child was born, Marsanna Renee Jackson. He later married the late Beverly Tealer of Houston, Texas. This union was blessed with three children, Johnny Earl, Erik and Rachelle. Mr. Jackson leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Annie Jackson; two daughters, Marsanna Renee Jackson and Rachelle Tealer; two sons, Johnny Earl Tealer and Erik Tealer-Jackson; twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Brenda  (Johnny) Miller; one niece, Chandre Jackson; devoted cousins, Willia R. Woodkins, Dianne (Kenneth) Johnson and a loyal friend, Kenneth Culberson; many other relatives, friends and classmates.
