Lovona Jeanne “Bonnie” Owens- age 78 of Farwell passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at home. Bonnie was born on November 13, 1938, in Coleman, Michigan to parents Ernest and Mary ( Egbert) Yates. She was a well-known babysitter in the Farwell area for many, many children. She worked for 30 years as caretaker of the CMU Nethercutt Woodlands and Wakelin-McNeel Nature Center. She loved nature, sewing, and cooking. She is survived by two daughters; Carrie Rose Owens of Clare, Mary Ann and husband Patrick Findling of Lake Orion, brother Jerry Yates of Maryland, sister-in-law Lorrain Yates, and two granddaughters Julia & Alaina Findling. She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters. A funeral is planned for Friday at 6PM at the Campbell-Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell. Family and friends may visit on Friday from 3PM until the time of service. Final resting place will be in the Warren Township Cemetery.
