Bruce Leonard

Bruce W. Leonard, age 83, of Fountain, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017. He was born October 7, 1934 in Fountain to Virgil and Noma (Waine) Leonard. Bruce graduated from Free Soil High School in 1952 and he was drafted into the US Army. He served his country in Germany during a time of peace. Bruce married the late Dorothy Ann Blohm on March 12, 1960 in Scottville. Together they raised two daughters, Pamela and Laura. Bruce drove truck for Flora Craft, before moving his family to New Jersey, in 1967, where he operated a Flora Craft plant for many years. After Dorothy’s passing, Bruce moved back to his home town where he spent his retirement. Bruce loved gardening, mowing his lawn, and working on small machinery. He also loved spending time with his good friends and family, especially when he would get to cook ribs for all to enjoy. Bruce was also known to do a little hunting and fishing when he was able. Bruce is survived by his daughters: Pamela Canter of Fountain and Laura (Dennis) Cox of Ewing, NJ; two grandchildren: Michael Canter of Windermere, FL and Emily Cox of Ewing, NJ; his brother: Richard Leonard of Scottville and sister-in-law Janet (Paul) LeBrun of Spring Lake, MI; and many good neighbors, nieces and nephews. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service and burial will take place at the family’s convenience. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Ludington.
