Dorothy M. Converse Ionia Dorothy was born in Belding, Michigan on May 26, 1911 and passed away from this life on August 7, 2005 at the age of 94. She was th e only child of Grace and Olon L. Taft, who preceded her in death many years ago. Dorothy graduated from Belding High School in 1929 and began working at the Metal Glass Company. In 1931, she married Glenn A. Converse of Lowell. During their married life they lived in Greenville, Belding and Ionia. Dorothy worked for many years and retired from the State of Michigan in 1973. After her retirement, she and Glenn bought a mobile home in Dade City, Florida. Although Glenn passed away in 1978, Dorothy continued her annual trips until the age of 80. She enjoyed her many Florida friends and her position as Entertainment Director for the Park. Dorothy was very artistic. Even as a young girl, she made beautiful things with her hands. Her arts and crafts projects continued throughout her life and exist as a lasting remembrance of her. Dorothy is survivied by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda L. and Anthony Juliano of Lansing; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ruth and James Monroe of Lansing; her niece, Carol Johnson of New Era and her children Steven, David and Karen. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 11, 2005 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St. Ionia. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Lowell. The family will receive friends 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home on Thursday.
