Age 95, formerly of Portland, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at Heartland Healthcare Center in Ionia.  She was born on June 14, 1908 in Ashley, MI the daughter of Otto G. and Caroline M. (Phy) Beck.  Mrs. Riley was a member of the Portland Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years.  While at Heartland Healthcare Center she enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with people that came in from the Portland area.  She was a true Ambassador for the Lord.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 65 years, Clayton Riley in 1993; 4 brothers and 4 sisters.  She will be sadly missed by her children, Joyce and Bob Phillips of Ionia, Carol and Marvin Sandborn of Crystal, MI, and Lee and Elaine Riley of Roscommon, MI; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; several step great and great great grandchildren; brother, Harold and Frieda Beck of Ithaca; several nieces and nephews.  The Funeral Service will be conducted by the Rev. Daniel Steman, Pastor at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2003 at the Portland Church of the Nazarene, 9466 Cutler Road with Interment following at Portland Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church on Friday.  For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia Area Hospice or to the Portland Church of the Nazarene, in memory of Martha Idella Riley.
