Ralph E. Oxendale Portland Ralph Earl Oxendale, age 89, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017. He was born on June 7, 1927 in Wheeler, MI to Ray and Agnes (Blandon) Oxendale. Ralph was a talented journeyman carpenter for General Motors for 18 years and prior to that he built many homes in Lansing with Fred Cross for over 30 years. He was known to be the “jack-of-all-trades” and enjoyed working on his old cars. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Oxendale; and several siblings. He is survived by his three children, Mark Oxendale, Dave Oxendale, and Julia Oxendale; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several siblings; and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland with Pastor Roy Atherton officiating. Interment will be at Danby Cemetery. A luncheon will immediately follow at the Portland V.F.W. #4090. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. The family would like to thank the Sparrow Hospital Staff for the great care they provided to Ralph. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
