Richard Bashore

Age 72, went to be with his Lord on Monday, August, 29, 2005 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on November 9, 1932 in St. Johns, MI the son of Hugh O'Dell and Laura Rose (Ernst) Bashore. Mr. Bashore was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion, having served in the Corp. of Engineers in the U.S. Army. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; son, Richard Jr.; grandsons, Richard III and Clayton Bashore. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Delores (Woodhams) Bashore; daughter, Terry (Archie) Lumbart of Potterville; sons, Rodney (Deb) Bashore and Steve (Tina) Bashore, both of Portland; daughter-in-laws, Patricia Villegas-Bashore of Lansing, and Nadine Psenkzi of Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Marlene and Katie; brother, Jerry; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, numerous special lifelong friends, and the "River Rats". The Memorial Service will be conducted by Pastor Jeffery Heimsoth at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2005 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 8990 Church Road, St. Johns. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 700 W. Ash Street, Mason, MI 48854.
