Virginia Mae Hoppes Portland Age70, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2007. She was born on August 25, 1937 in Mulliken the daughter of Edward and Ida (Holland) Pearson. Virginia was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, served as the Danby Twp. Supervisor for 4 years and enjoyed quilting, needlework and going to garage sales. She was preceded in death by her parents, and grandsons Joshua Hoppes and John Daily. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bernard "Bud" Hoppes, Jr.; children Anthony (Terri) Hoppes, Jeffrey (Marcia) Hoppes, Suzanna "Sue" (Greg) Goodman, Tammie (Craig) Fields; grandchildren T.J. Hoppes, Brianna Hoppes, Tasha Daily, Katie Fitts, Angie (Rick) Hickling, Randy Hoppes, Lisa Hoppes, Christine and Samantha Hoppes, Ryan Goodman, Jordan (Renae) Goodman, Jena Goodman and Angelina Henandez-Fields; 7 great grandchildren; stepmother Charlene Pearson; brother William (Janet) Pearson. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland with Rev. Larry King presiding. Rite of Committal will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery, Mulliken. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. The rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. and a Scriptural Wake Service will be prayed at 8 p.m.. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
