Charles J. Miller, a long time Poughkeepsie resident, passed away at his home in Ellenville, NY early Saturday morning, August 25, 2018. Born November 19, 1951, he was the sixth child and only son of Charles J. and Mary Ringwood Miller who both predeceased him. Charles graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in 1970 and was employed in landscaping and property maintenance in Poughkeepsie. He moved to Ellenville in 2004 where he was a member of the Ulster Heights Rod and Gun Club and Ulster Trappers. He also volunteered at the Ulster Heights United Methodist Church and Ulster Heights community events. Charlie enjoyed fishing, four wheeling, playing cards, and the simple life around the lake.

Charles is survived by his sisters Frances Miller and Mary Hoffman of Ellenville, NY, and Mellina Weiss and Elizabeth Miller of LaGrange, NY. Charles was predeceased by his sister Anne Sterner of LaGrange and his beloved dog, "Alyce". He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews and their children.

Charles was lovingly cared for in his final months by his nephew Francis Hoffman and his wife Sandra of Ellenville, NY and his nephew Daniel Miller of Stanfordville, NY. Special gratitude to his friends Richard Carlson and Emily Klucinec, both of Ellenville, NY and new friends from the Ulster County Hospice.

Per Charles' wishes there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be offered on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 10:00AM, followed with burial in the family plot at Calvary Cemetery, 62 LaGrange Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
