Frank Girard Ciliberto Obituary

Frank G. Ciliberto, age 80, of Potosi, Missouri, passed away Sunday evening, April 30, 2017, surrounded by his friends and family. He was born April 4, 1937 in Jenkenstown, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Delores and Joseph Ciliberto, and was preceded in death by his two brothers, Joseph and John Ciliberto. Frank served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1954-1958. He then was in the restaurant and bar industry, that took him to many cities around the country and eventually landed him in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1968, Frank married Jeanne R. Reynolds and gained a step daughter, Crista Catherine. Frank and Jeanne were married for 24 years and had two children, Frank John and Jonese Nicole. Frank spent many years as a professional truck driver, where he met a few of his closest friends and visited many states in the country. In 1981, Frank began his career in law enforcement. A member of the task force in Potosi, Missouri until 1990, he served as a patrolman and was then promoted to the rank of Sergeant. For a period of time, he also served as a detective. From 1990-1994 he was part of the St. Francois County Narcotics task force. Then from 1994-1996, was with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. Following his career in law enforcement, Frank returned to the open road, driving a truck for the Kwan Company, until he retired in 2009. In his retirement, Frank enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed watching his grandson’s baseball games and attending his granddaughter’s dance recitals and sporting activities. His hobbies included: cooking his family’s Italian recipes, scuba diving, motorcycles, traveling (by land), playing cards and board games, reminiscing of the 1950’s and classic cars, dancing, and listening to music. Frank was a member of Saint James Catholic Church in Potosi, a member of the NRA, and a past member of the Potosi Elks Club. Frank is survived by his three children: Frank John and Debra Ciliberto of Festus, Missouri, Crista Hanrahan of Imperial Missouri, Jonese and Matt Monahan of Alexandria, Virginia; his grandchildren: Kennedy, Kelsey, and Kiley Arling, Antonio John Ciliberto, and Ashley Thebeau; his great granddaughters: Aubree and Allison; and close friends: DJ Logsden, Betty Ruth and the late Chief Roy Logsden, Mal and Charli Gum, and Jeanne and Mike Politte.
