David J. Barteld, 80, of Hazlet, passed away on Friday, November 11th, at Bayshore Health Care, Holmdel. He was born in Jersey City, lived in Matawan, before moving to Hazlet and marrying his sweetheart Joyce 40 years ago. David was a salesman for Tropicana and Hebrew National; a courier for GCH Law firm; banquet manager for the Buttonwood Manor and most recently a crossing guard for Middletown. David was a member of the Rotary Club in Matawan and a very active and devoted parishioner of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Hazlet. Surviving is his loving wife Joyce Miller; a very large extended family, especially close to his sister Carole Provitera. Family will be accepting friends on Tuesday 3-7pm at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. On Wednesday there will be an 11:00am Service at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Hazlet. Burial to follow at Shorelands Cemetery, Hazlet.
