John A. Katz, 79, of the town of Hyde Park, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh April 13, 1940, the son of Michael Katz and Dorothy Martin. On August 11, 1990, he married Annette Albro at Holy Trinity Church. John was self employed as consultant in electrical design. He was an Army veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Shriners, and the Elks Club, all in Poughkeepsie. John enjoyed his family, woodworking, reading up on medicine, and was a certified EMT, volunteering at Fairview Fire District. Surviving are his wife Annette, at home, Children, Jessica Katz, Ellen Lehner (Mike) and their children Kasey and Paige, Marc Katz, (Robin) and their children Jed, Turner and Averie, and a brother Martin Katz. He was predeceased by his parents, and 4 siblings. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Peters Church,Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, 185 Hudson Drive, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 12603.
